In this tutorial, we would like to present a black light theatre exercise focused on coordinating movement and visual illusion on stage. The video demonstrates how performers can manipulate objects and movement so that the visible elements appear to act independently in a dark environment. Through careful control of positioning, rhythm, and timing, the performers create a scene in which the illuminated elements become the main focus while the manipulators remain hidden.
This exercise introduces participants to the key visual principles of black light theatre, where performers dressed in black work on a dark stage illuminated by ultraviolet light. In this setting, glowing or fluorescent objects stand out clearly, while anything black becomes invisible to the audience, creating the illusion that objects move on their own.
