This episode explains why objects and puppets must be tested in action before choreography is built around them. Each element should be assessed for visibility, readability, movement, durability and ease of control under the actual UV light and from the audience's distance. An object that looks effective when still may become confusing when turned, lifted or moved too quickly. Puppets also require checks of articulation points, hand positions and whether the manipulator remains hidden. The episode warns against becoming attached to a crafted design before confirming that it works on stage. Early testing makes it easier to simplify, repair or redesign the object before the whole scene depends on it.
