Objects should be grouped by scene, waiting positions and entrances should be clear, and performers must know who carries each prop and how every transition occurs. Unnecessary furniture, equipment, lights and personal items should be removed from the performance area. Entrances and exits require the same rehearsal attention as visible actions, especially when several people move in darkness. Clear pathways, controlled cables, safe prop edges and limited backstage crowding reduce collisions and confusion. The backstage system becomes a form of hidden choreography supporting the visible image.
