Episode 12: Choosing UV Lighting: Coverage, Safety and Testing

This episode addresses the practical selection and use of ultraviolet lamps. Instead of choosing by brand name or maximum power, facilitators should consider the size and shape of the room, beam coverage, mounting options, stability, heat, access to electricity and safe cable management. An even wash across the performance zone is usually more useful than one intense but narrow pool of light. The discussion recommends beginning with a small number of reliable lamps and testing them with actual fabrics, tapes, paints and props in the intended room. Materials can react very differently under different setups, so the best lamp is the one that produces clear, consistent visibility under real working conditions.
