In this tutorial, we would like to present a visual exercise focused on creating shapes and images using black light theatre techniques. The video demonstrates how performers can form different shapes and visual compositions on a dark stage, allowing the audience to see only the illuminated elements while the performers themselves remain hidden. Through coordinated movements and positioning, the shapes appear clearly and transform smoothly during the performance.
This activity introduces participants to the core visual illusion used in black light theatre, where performers dressed in black work in a dark environment while fluorescent or illuminated elements become visible. Because the human eye cannot easily distinguish black objects from a black background, performers can manipulate glowing props and shapes so they appear to move independently on stage.
